Attackers are exploiting a critical Cisco ISE authentication bypass

Cisco says CVE-2026-76460 is being actively exploited. The CVSS 10.0 flaw lets an unauthenticated remote attacker bypass the management interface on Identity Services Engine and ISE-PIC; successful exploitation can lead to root command execution. There is no workaround, although infrastructure ACLs can restrict exposure while administrators deploy fixed releases.

Why it matters to you

ISE controls who and what can reach enterprise networks, so compromise undermines the trust layer itself. Patch every node, inspect access.log for suspicious usernames, and cross-check firewall and network telemetry stored outside ISE. Cisco recommends re-imaging affected nodes if exploitation is suspected because a root attacker may erase local evidence.

Brevo compromise turns trusted website scripts into a malware channel

Brevo confirmed that attackers used a compromised Cloudflare API key to alter JavaScript delivered through its domains. For roughly four hours on 14 September, affected customer sites displayed fake CAPTCHA-style ClickFix prompts, while logged-in WordPress administrators could be targeted with a malicious plugin. The wider incident also exposed customer contact lists through separate abuse of Brevo accounts.

Why it matters to you

A SaaS vendor's script runs inside your users' browsers with your site's trust. Inventory third-party JavaScript, restrict it with Content Security Policy and Subresource Integrity where possible, rotate CDN credentials, and keep API tokens scoped and short-lived. A kill switch for vendor scripts should not require a full application deployment.

Claude now leads 26% of Anthropic's work on future models

Anthropic says Claude led 26% of its AI research and development work in August, up from 1% in March, while more than 90% involved human-AI collaboration. Around 30,000 agents ran on its internal platform. Anthropic says every agent action is pre-screened and roughly one in 47,000 decisions was blocked by safety controls.

Why it matters to you

The useful pattern is not autonomous coding alone, but measured delegation with enforcement and telemetry. For SaaS engineering, define which actions agents may propose or execute, pre-screen tool calls, log blocked decisions and preserve a human owner for releases, secrets, billing and production changes.

Marvell and GlobalFoundries expand optical capacity for AI data centres

GlobalFoundries and Marvell expanded their manufacturing agreement for chips used in high-speed optical links inside AI data centres. The deal responds to growing demand for the connectivity that moves data between accelerator clusters, highlighting that interconnect capacity is becoming as consequential as the compute silicon itself.

For network infrastructure, accelerator utilisation depends on latency, optics, switching and congestion control across the fabric. Capacity planning should measure communication bottlenecks and failure domains, not just GPU counts; SaaS teams buying AI capacity should also ask providers about network oversubscription and predictable throughput.

France builds an open bridge between quantum systems and supercomputers

France's CEA and quantum startup Alice & Bob will extend the open-source Qaptiva stack so classical supercomputers can assign suitable tasks to quantum processors. CEA already integrates machines from Quandela and Pasqal and plans to install an Alice & Bob system in 2027. The initiative is intended to prevent a single software ecosystem from dominating hybrid quantum computing.

Why it matters to you

The architecture is a useful interoperability lesson well before quantum computing becomes routine: keep specialised accelerators behind open interfaces and let the scheduler choose the right backend. Avoid hard-coding applications to one vendor's hardware, especially when platforms are immature and regional sovereignty matters.
